A report released by the renowned medical journal, the Lancet, in March, brought out some alarming data pointing to an impending 'obesity epidemic' in India. Apart from the data on adults, the report also said that obesity in children between the ages of 5 and 19 has gone up from 0.4 million in 1990 to 12.5 million children in 2022.
